Almond-Cream Handloom Carpet

The ivory tassels along the breadth of this rug bring out the flush of earthy tones and pastels that make up the colour palette. The one-of-a-kind floral and rangoli-esque motifs are best appreciated by zooming in on each of the delicately edged panels, separated by strips of the pristine foundation.

They are made through the signature knotting technique of the Orient, using threads of silk against the cotton foundation. One could spend hours chilling indoors on this beauty, beating the winter with a large fire and gazing at the handiwork of Kashmiri artisans.

Fuchsia-Rose Zari-Woven Fusion Baluchari Sari from Bengal

This gorgeous silk saree would be the perfect addition to one, what with the luxuriant coat of gold zari woven against the apt blush-pink of the dye of the base fabric. Both the zariworked paisleys and the miniscule surface areas of silk amidst them shimmer with the motions of the wearer.
What makes this a true Baluchari number is the one-of-a-kind enpiece that, characteristically enough, tells a story. A purple border transition into dark blue over the all-important pleats then concludes in a statement maroon endpiece. Super-skilled zariwork on the border and the endpiece show moments of Radha-Krishna's togetherness, and Vrindavan gopies singing and dancing to the memory of their Krishna.

Gorgeous Handwoven Rugs

The region comprises of old weaver families, wherein the skill has been perfected over generations of practise with the loom. This explains the high-precision weave of this rug, which is best appreciated by zooming in on each unit surface area of this rug.

Handwoven Rugs
The colour palette of this rug is what makes it a statement choice for home decor. A pale creamy red in the centre gives way to more full-bodied shades of the same colour. Lain along the length of your dining table or at the foot of your bed, it would set a gathered, almost sombre, tone to your space.

It is the perfect conversation-starter for when you have guests over, given that it is a one-of-a-kind work of art made in a remote recess of North India.
